Just about all revolvers come in double action with single action being seen in very classic Western style revolvers. Double action revolvers can also be fired in single action mode by manually cocking the hammer, which will also reduce the trigger pull. A double action revolver has a longer trigger pull but the gun is cocked and then fired in the same trigger pull. You must cock the hammer before pulling the trigger each time. Single action means the trigger only does one thing, and that is to release the hammer to fire the gun. Revolvers come in one of two forms, single or double action. In airsoft it's really more about what style you like and running the gear you want. Is there a time and place where they would be the perfect tool for the job? Absolutely. Is the revolver antiquated? Some say yes. All that being said, the revolver class of airsoft pistols offers a lot of fun but does have its drawbacks that are associated with real revolvers too. Some do it because the way the revolver works offers a more satisfying experience both in collecting and for playing. Why choose a revolver in airsoft? Most people do it for the uniqueness of the gun.
